The anonymously published Ovide moralisé (1309–1320), the first French translation and allegorical presentation of the Latin Metamorphoses, is a key text for understanding the late medieval reception of Ovid, mythography, and poetics. This edition philological and linguistic work on Book X is based on the manuscript Rouen, Bibl. Mun., O.4 (1315–1325; CGM: Rouen BM No. 1044).
