Commentaire sur l'œuvre Die Übersetzung entstand im Oberrheingebiet - ev. Strassburg oder Basel - um die Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts (vgl. Williams 1996, S. 15*). Sie entstand somit in zeitlicher und räumlicher Nähe zur alemannischen Vitenübersetzung, mit der sie im 15. Jahrhundert auch meistens gemeinsam überliefert wurde (vgl. Williams 1996, S. 16*).
